Duke Nukem 3D For Mac OS X 12162004
This package includes an installer that will install the game from either the PC 'Atomic Edition' disc, or the MacSoft disc from the Mac Classic version of the game. If you don't have a retail disc, the installer can give you the free shareware episode.
3DRealms still sells the game off their website at 3drealms.com. If you don't have it, this is the path of least resistance to a legitimate copy of the game. eBay is another option. Make sure you get the 'Atomic Edition' if you buy a PC disc.
TCP/IP networking and an OSX version of the level editor are included, but are intentionally hidden. Use at your own risk. :)
Do not contact 3DRealms or MacSoft for tech support; they will not help you with this version of the game...but https://bugzilla.icculus.org/ might.

Great, but i wish you could download it with out the free episode... btw Happy Person there is a port for marathon on OS X its called M1A1 and for the other two marathons its called alephone, i think they are free too.

Damn Good Port! Thing is.. I can't seem to change the screen resolution. Even tho I edited the 'duke3d.cfg' H&W to 800x600. Hmm.. more tinkering is involved I guess! Anyways.. For those of you who REALLY wanna Play a killer game of DooM, DooM II, Heretic or Hexen.. Then I Highly Rcommend the Doomsday Engine! It will run 'em All! You just need the '.wad' file from each game. And, it uses hi-rez OpenGL wonderfully! It is a bit of a pain to get going since there is no installer. But, once you do.. It is *The Best* DooM Source Port Period!

Developer Felix Rieseberg won our hearts and minds a couple of years ago, when he released Windows 95 as an Electron app that you could run in Windows, macOS and Linux. He even updated it a year ago to make it faster and bundled playable versions of gaming classics such as Doom and Wolfenstein3D alongside the OS.

Now he’s back with an installable version of Mac OS 8 that you can run on any modern computer, and he’s included a number of Mac apps and games with it, including Photoshop 3, Premiere 4, Illustrator 5.5, Oregon Trail, and Duke Nukem 3D.

This time around, he’s moved to JavaScript for his macintosh.js app which uses a virtual machine to emulate a 1991 Macintosh Quadra 900 with a Motorola CPU. This was the processor Apple used before switching to the PowerPC architecture (Apple/IBM/Motorola) in the mid 1990s.

You'll find various games and demos preinstalled, thanks to an old MacWorld Demo CD from 1997. Namely, Oregon Trail, Duke Nukem 3D, Civilization II, Alley 19 Bowling, Damage Incorporated, and Dungeons & Dragons.

There are also various apps and trials preinstalled, including Photoshop 3, Premiere 4, Illustrator 5.5, StuffIt Expander, the Apple Web Page Construction Kit, and more.

You can transfer files from and to the system but you can’t connect to the internet in this release. Non-working versions of Internet Explorer and Netscape are installed, as is the Web Sharing Server, if you fancy playing around with those.
